Answered For is an AI phone receptionist for businesses. It answers calls for a business, takes messages, and asks the business owner to confirm or decline booking requests. This page explains what information we handle and why.

Who this covers

Business owners who sign up (our customers), and the people who call those businesses (callers).

What we collect

From business owners: name, business name, email address, phone number, the details you give us about how your business works, and your preferences for notifications and bookings.

From callers: what they say on the call, the name and phone number they give, and the details of what they ask for, such as a message or a requested booking time.

Google Calendar

If a business owner chooses to connect Google Calendar, we ask for two permissions. One lets us check when you are free or busy, so we can avoid offering times that clash. The other lets us add an event to your calendar when you confirm a booking. We do not read, copy or store the contents of your other calendar events. We keep a secure, encrypted access token so the connection keeps working, and you can disconnect at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions.

Answered For's use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We use Google data only to provide the booking and availability features described here. We do not sell it, use it for advertising, or use it to train AI models.

How we use information

To answer calls, pass messages and booking requests to the business owner, send confirmation emails and calendar invitations, keep the service secure, and fix problems. We do not sell personal information.

Who we share it with

We use service providers to run Answered For: a voice AI provider to handle the call, an email delivery provider to send emails, and a cloud hosting provider to store data. They process information only to provide their service to us. We may also disclose information if the law requires it.

Keeping it safe

Data is stored with a reputable cloud provider, sent over encrypted connections, and access tokens are stored encrypted. No online service is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.

How long we keep it

We keep information while a business has an active account and for as long as needed to run the service. You can ask us to delete your information at any time.

Your choices and rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, or disconnect Google Calendar, by emailing us. If you are in Australia and are unhappy with how we handle a request, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date above.
